Hi Mrs Takako, Mr Masa Kondo and team
I want to thank you all for the wonderful trip planned again.
I would like to leave a testimonial for your team and for the driver Mr Tasuke Sekimoto.
My aged parent and I went on a week long trip in Kyushu planned by Japan Kyushu Tourist,
including Nagasaki, Shimabara, Hitoyoshi, Ibusuki and Kagoshima. This is my second year
engaging this tour agency and this tour guide as I was very satisfied with them last year.
The tour was planned with great care by the team at Japan Kyushu Tourist and they were
very responsive and attentive to my requests via email. I had asked for Western style hotel
rooms to accomodate my parent and these were dutifully arranged. I would like to commend
the tour guide/ driver Mr Tasuke Sekimoto for going above and beyond at his job. He was
able to adjust the itinerary to suit our preferences, bring us to eat the most delicious of
Japanese foods and also make arrangements in advance. He was always on the ball,
attentive and so hardworking. He also spoke English very fluently! We were very impressed
with his service. If you are looking for a trip with ease and comfort, do not hesitate to book
a tour with Japan Kyushu Tourist and Mr Tasuke Sekimoto.

Beppu, Yanagawa, Fukuoka
What our Customer have to say
Dear Takako & Masa-san,
Yes, we have all returned home safely with overflowing suitcases & added body weight!
We definitely enjoyed our trip even though some of us had to work very hard to conquer the
steps up & down especially for the Udo Shrine & Mt Tsurumi. These are our own physical limitations.
Kyushu is a beautiful island with the mountains, volcanoes, calderas, gorges, hot springs and lush
greenery everywhere (some autumnal colors too).
Our guide, Fumiko worked very closely with the bus driver, Sato to plan for suitable rest stops on the
longer drives & we appreciate their thoughtfulness. Sato was a very safe and careful driver and we
appreciate his skillfulness and care. Fumiko is tirelessly making sure all the arrangements for our
next stops are in order and if there is problem she tries very positively to overcome the difficulty.
She talked to every shuttle bus driver/taxi driver at the base of Takachiho Gorge to try and get us a
ride up to the bus park. Everyone said no until one driver said ok as his customers were a no show!
She is someone you can depend on and she is very fit to climb everywhere so effortlessly.
As customers, we are generally delighted as your service has exceeded our expectations.
Accommodations in Kagoshima and Beppu were excellent. Arden Hotel has its own character and
I liked it. As you can guess, those 3 hotels had outdoor onsens as well. We were treated to fireworks
at 6pm whilst in the outdoor onsen facing Sakurajima – what a nice surprise! Ibusuki Seaside Hotel was
good for our in-house black sand experience. The Kumamoto hotel was excellent for its close location
to shopping and food but we did not have much time for shopping there. Likewise Clio Court Hotel is
also located right at Hakata Station entrance – some ladies felt it was old and furniture dated but for a
short stay, most of us had no negatives as the rooms were quite large to accommodate all our big
suitcases for packing! I personally consider Clio Court Hotel much nicer than Richmond Hotel.
The food everywhere ranges from good to excellent – we managed to try almost everything on Kyushu
except those Kagoshima lobsters Fumiko mentioned as we drove away from Kagoshima!
I used to work as a Total Quality Manager (TQM sort – not the QC sort) so I have asked the ladies to
fill out a feedback questionnaire and I will summarise their feedback and send it to you possibly by
the end of next week.
A big Thank You to Hikako for patiently working all the bits and pieces of our main itinerary and my
personal side itineraries. I have given Fumiko a little bag for assorted items for both Hikako and
Masa-san – small items from Singapore. And a big Thank You to Fumiko & Sato-san too!

Japanese Christianity
Japanese Christianity has a unique history of continuing faith while coexisting
with Japanese Religion Shinto and General society.
Nagasaki Port was opened and the first Portuguese ship arrived in 1571.
And development of the town of cape was started as Christian town in 1571 and many
Churches were constructed in Nagasaki.
However, due to the Tokugawa Shogunate’s Ban on Christianity in 1614, most of the
church buildings were destroyed. Since ban on the Christianity was lifted in 1873,
new Christian history in Japan has begun and many Churches and Cathedrals have
been constructed.
Then Christianity was spread in Nagasaki region. However, unparalleled hidden Cristian
history was started from when Toyotomi Hideyoshi Shogunate proclaimed Christian ban
in 1587. During ban on Christianity, people secretly continued to faith while surviving in
the midst of the conventional society and Japanese religions. And many Christians were
also martyred during this period. Here we introduce the history of the ban
on Christianity, including the places of martyrdom and museums.
Martyrdom of the 26 Saints of Japan
26 Christians arrested in Kyoto who were consisted of 20 Japanese, 4 Spaniards,
1 Mexican, and 1 Portuguese. They walked from Kyoto to Nagasaki in January
and February 1597. How great were the physical and mental suffering of those
26 men who were forced to march all the way from Kyoto to Nagasaki during
these cold winter days, and they all ascended to heaven at Nishizaka Hill on
Februay 05.
History of Japanese Christianity
Christian history in Japan was started when St. Francis Xavier came to Japan
as a first Christian missionary in 1549.
Here we introduce the history of Christianity from the time it spread to Japan
until the present day.
